SUMMARYTends 1 or more machines or special purpose machines to machine metal work pieces to specifications on production basis by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSAIBILITIES -Starts machine, engaging all feed mechanisms in proper sequence, and observes operation.-Recognizes improper function of machine-stops machine and reports failure to proper person.-Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications and to continually strive to improve quality. When defective parts are found, the machine is to be stopped, and the defect reported to the set-up man or supervisor.-Continuously monitors parts being produced and complete S.P.C. charts as required.-Assist in the training of new employees andor assist other operators as time permits.-Adds coolant to machine reservoir and turns valve to stat flow of coolant.-Tends machines and equipment-loading hopers, unjamming machine, replacing tools when available taps, etc..-Performs duties in accordance with established work instructions and procedures to maintain compliance with ISO9002.-Maintains good housekeeping. -Maintains safety as one priority, abiding by company rules, operating machinery only when guards are in place, wearing required personal protective equipment PPE when in the manufacturing area, and maintaining a clean workplace atmosphere.-Reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
